- About this temple
Kerala Tourism records Attukal Pongala at this shrine as a ten-day festival beginning in the Malayalam month of Makaram–Kumbham (February–March) on the Karthika star, with the main Pongala offering on the Pooram star. The festival opens with the Kappukettu ceremony. During Pongala, Kerala Tourism describes women devotees offering Pongala — a sweet dish of rice, jaggery, coconut, and plantains prepared in earthen pots — to the goddess Bhagavathy, known as Attukalamma. The official website of Attukal Bhagavathy Temple Trust publishes information on festivals, poojas, announcements, and bookings.
