Temple details
- About this temple
Kerala Tourism calls it Dakshina Mookambika and describes a shrine in a natural valley without a conventional sanctum, with a creeper-covered idol and poojas performed on an alternate idol. The festival page records that the idol stands on a river-stone manithara and that rituals are performed in thatched huts. Traditional management is by three Brahmin families: Kizhupuram, Karunad, and Kaimukku. Kerala Tourism documents Vidyarambham as the initiation of children into letters and the beginning of education, including on Vijayadashami during Navaratri and on other days except Durgashtami and Mahanavami.
